The West Side Nut Club Fall Festival kicks off Monday, and before you head to Franklin Street for your annual mission to eat as many questionable food combinations as your digestive system will tolerate, there's something new you should know about.

Because somewhere between pulling out your phone to take a picture of your pronto pup and digging around for another napkin, things get lost.

Every year, the West Side Nut Club says dozens of cell phones, key fobs, wallets, and other personal belongings are turned in during the Fall Festival.

For 2026, the Nut Club is trying something new to make getting those items back to their owners a little easier.

Look for Lost & Found QR Codes at Fall Festival

If you lose something during the festival, you'll now be able to scan a Lost & Found QR code and complete a Lost Item Form.

Then, if someone turns it in, the West Side Nut Club will have information it can use to potentially match the recovered item with its owner and get in touch.

Basically, you're giving your lost wallet, phone, or keys a fighting chance of finding their way home.

Where to Find the Lost Item QR Code

The West Side Nut Club says Lost & Found QR codes will be available in several places throughout the festival, including the Lost & Found Booth, Park Trailer Booth, and the Main Office.

The QR code will also scroll across the Half Pot screens during the festival.

Of course, filling out the form doesn't guarantee your missing item will be recovered. Someone still has to find it and turn it in.

But considering the sheer number of people packed onto Franklin Street during Fall Festival week, giving the people handling Lost & Found your contact information and a description of what you're missing certainly can't hurt.

Fall Festival Returns to Franklin Street

The 105th West Side Nut Club Fall Festival takes over Franklin Street in Evansville October 5-10, 2026, bringing hundreds of food booths, rides, entertainment, and thousands of visitors to Evansville's West Side.

So maybe add one more thing to your Fall Festival game plan: Keep track of your phone, wallet, and keys.

And if that plan fails, at least now you know there's a QR code for that.
