The iconic Home Alone house doesn't look anything like the one we wished it would.
The warmth and vibrancy from the movie just aren’t there anymore. For a lot of us, that version only exists in our memories.
New Owners Plan a Full Home Alone Restoration
However, the new owner of the Home Alone house in Winnetka has different ideas. They are planning on turning back the clock. Project Manager Scott Price tells NBC 5 in Chicago.
Our vision is to bring back the warmth and just the love from the movie...There was so many great colors and it just made you feel like family and like home and we want to bring that magic back.

This Home Alone Renovation Isn’t a Fundraiser or Public Campaign
The best part is that this isn't some GoFundMe scheme where the current owners want you to help fund the renovations so it can get finished. The people who just recently bought the Home Alone house are paying for the complete restoration.

Could a Future Home Alone Tour or Museum Be Next
I'm just speculating here, but part of me thinks that this is just the beginning of something else, like a tour or a museum of some sort. I know I would be more than willing to throw down a few bucks to walk through the Home Alone house that looks just like the movie. I know plenty of other people would, too.
Think about all of the people who drive by to see the outside. If they could walk inside too, then you'd really have something. No word on when the renovations will be completed, but when we hear something, we will pass the word on.
