We interrupt this holiday season for something you might typically see in the days and weeks leading up to Halloween. But this wasn't a done deal in the days and weeks leading up to Halloween. Now, it's a done deal.

Is it odd to figuratively shed a tear over demolishing a structure widely believed to be the nation's most haunted nightclub? Or ANY haunted structure? The answer is a resounding YES. Just like when they tore down the creepy old "haunted" house that sat abandoned on a hill behind our house when I was growing up, I'll greet the demise of Bobby Mackey's Music World with equivalent amounts of sadness.

Bobby Mackey's Music World to Be Demolished

Yes, I'd like that which terrifies us but leaves us unharmed to remain in existence for as long as possible. But some things are not meant to be, no matter how horrifying. Let's join this Eric Church lookalike for a last look around before the wrecking ball does its thing on December 10th.

Located in Wilder KY, Bobby Mackey's Music World was built on the site of an old slaughterhouse that began operating in the early 1800s. What's Next for Bobby Mackey's Music World?

Bobby Mackey's Music World itself moved into a new building in Florence KY earlier this year, perhaps leaving all the otherworldly juju behind in Wilder. However, the building has remained open for ghost tours.

So popular was the folklore surrounding the nightclub that Kentucky Tourism even devoted space to it on its website. Will the ghosts or poltergeists or whatever they are follow? I'm sure Bobby will let us know.
