Who’s Ready for Serious Fall-Like Weather in KY & IN This Weekend?
It's no secret that fall is my favorite season. Hands down. None of the other three are even close. And I start craving fall at the beginning of August.
In recent weeks we've had stretches of intensely hot weather that have amped up my desire to get this autumn party started. Well, we have no passed September 1st, the first day of meteorological fall, and, right on schedule, we promptly got a beautiful September 2nd and an even MORE comfortable September 3rd. And yet, this coming weekend, it's going to feel even better.
Highs in the mid-70s will bring a tear to my eye. Honestly, that would be my jam 365 days a year, but you'd be surprised at the number of sun worshippers who scowl at the concept. WHAT IN THE WORLD IS WRONG WITH 75 DEGREES?
Well anyway, that's what folks in western Kentucky and southern Indiana are in for come Saturday and Sunday. (To be fair, most of my friends are fall lovers, but there ARE those...🙄)
As for the rest of Indiana...well, let's just say if you bought a new sweater or jacket on clearance in May or June and haven't had a chance to wear it yet, head north. Indianapolis could only see a high of 69 this Saturday, but up in Kokomo, it will be even cooler.
And it gets chillier the farther you go. Notre Dame has a home game this weekend, and with a projected high of only 64 in South Bend, I bet we see a LOT of those clearance sweaters in the stadium.
Enjoy your weekend 70s, Kentucky. Enjoy your weekend 60s, Indiana. I'll be at home dusting off the rake and the fire pit.
