Ever since the man, the myth, the legend Alex Trebek passed away in 2020, Jeopardy! has seen a variety of hosts "take the stand" presiding over the iconic game show. That includes its current host and former mega-champ Ken Jennings.

From the moment guests hosts and then Jennings began taking turns at the podium, stories about social media reactions to how the game is being played have seriously ramped up. Most of them are complaints. I, however, turn a deaf ear to all that white noise. Jeopardy! is still Jeopardy! and you can't take anything away from the most popular Q & A series of all time.

Owensboro Gets a Couple of Jeopardy! Shout-Outs

I was delighted to learn that, back in 2004, my hometown of Owensboro KY appeared in this clue:

"This movie heartthrob isn't 'From Hell' or from 'Sleepy Hollow;' he's from Owensboro, Kentucky."

The answer, of course, is Johnny Depp.

In 2010, this one appeared:

"Reflecting the state nickname, the International Museum for this genre of music is in Owensboro."

You know this one, too, right? It's bluegrass.

A Jeopardy! Personal Connection

Way back in the mid-1990s, I got a heads up from a friend of mine that a lady with whom I'd had classes at Western Kentucky University was going to be a contestant. I hate that I can't remember her name, but she won $30,000. That would be more than $60,000 today. Not bad.

Easy Questions for Us, Difficult for Others

What you'll find below is a list of recent to relatively recent questions about Kentucky. They were all worth at least $1000, meaning they were more difficult...well, difficult for the contestants who knew very little about the Commonwealth. If you're FROM here, you'll wonder why they even made it on the show. (Although, to be honest, I thought No. 7 was hard.) You'll find the answers below the questions.

Can You Answer These 'Hard' Kentucky Jeopardy! Questions?

These questions about Kentucky are found in the Jeopardy! archive and were given high dollar values, meaning the show's writers and producers believed they were hard. What do YOU think?
