Here’s Why Kentucky Ranks as Least Romantic State for Winter Proposals
A new study has revealed the most romantic states in the U.S. for a winter proposal, with Rhode Island leading the list as the "capital of romance." While Kentucky offers beautiful landscapes and charming spots, the Commonwealth appears to be among the least romantic states. Here's why.
If you're planning to propose, the setting is important! You want a romantic backdrop with family to share the special moment. The key is to create a space where you feel comfortable and can share the moment with your loved ones. Think about what resonates most with you and your partner—whether it’s an intimate setting or a grand gesture. Hopefully, she says YES!
NEW STUDY REVEALS THE MOST ROMANTIC STATES
The study by Rare Carat, an online diamond engagement ring retailer, analyzed Tripadvisor comments to determine the most romantic states. The research examined how often the word "romantic" appeared in comments about hotels, restaurants, landmarks, and nature and parks across the U.S.
According to the findings, Rhode Island ranks highest, with Texas, Washington, New York, and Ohio rounding out the top five. These states have the most mentions of romance, making them ideal locations for couples looking to get engaged during the winter season.
This study highlights the importance of setting and atmosphere in creating a memorable and meaningful proposal experience, with these romantic hotspots providing the perfect backdrop for such an important moment.
LEAST ROMANTIC STATES FOR A WINTER PROPOSAL
The study revealed Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, Arizona, and Kentucky were the least romantic states for proposals. According to the study by Rare Carat, Kentucky has a relatively low frequency of "romantic" mentions in Tripadvisor reviews across its hotels, restaurants, landmarks, and nature parks. This suggests that the state may not be as widely associated with romantic settings or experiences compared to other states, making it less of a go-to location for couples seeking a proposal destination.
Ajay Anand, CEO of Rare Carat, commented, “These findings offer a fresh perspective on where couples can plan the most romantic proposals by examining user-created comments on Tripadvisor. It is interesting to see a diverse range of destinations being named the top choices for romantic engagements. From this, it is clear that the United States is filled with meaningful locations for couples looking to get down on one knee, from the charm of Rhode Island to the forests of Washington.”
